Scammers have been employing a new technique to determine the names of their potential targets, causing concern over privacy and security. In recent days, I have received multiple text messages from various numbers, all addressing me by my actual first name. This is a troubling development that highlights the importance of safeguarding our personal information. One particular avenue exploited by scammers is the Gcash Express Send feature, which displays the recipient's real name for validation purposes. Unfortunately, scammers have been using this feature to identify potential victims. I have taken the precautionary measure of blocking 38 scammer numbers, with 5 of them specifically mentioning my real first name. Individuals who are unfamiliar with such messages may inadvertently become victims.
